Spreader controls based on an SPC with ASI-input/output modules

In Dörpen the DUK is considered to be the nucleus of the GVZ. With large capacities they offer good operational conditions for their customers, who want to transport their goods in a comfortable and modern way from or into the Emsland.

Project description

The conventional controls were removed from an existing spreader and replaced by more user-friendly controls based on an SPC. Additionally, new spreaders from the company Smits Spreader systems were equipped with the same technology.

The SPC is on the trolley of the crane and, with the assistance of an ASI-bus system, connected to decentralized
ASI-bus modules on the spreader. The bus-connection is effected directly with two unshielded leads in the spreader circuit. The link-up with the crane controls is by binary inputs and outputs but can also be done via a Profibus link-up. In the crane driver’s cabin there is a panel for messages for the operation of the spreader and for receiving current operating status. Furthermore, maintenance rates are being shown, depending on the hours of operation.

Warum HIT?

HIT completed this project successfully. The crane drivers received a convenient and user-friendly facility, the maintenance personnel obtained a facility which is easy to maintain. In practice, the technology was quickly adopted and appreciated. Indirectly, an increase in the productivity of the crane was observed.
