Gas pressure control systems

The plant construction division of the Bohlen & Doyen group has been planning and building plants for the European market since 1967. A central element of their business is the building of gas pressure control systems and measuring systems. Gas supply companies and industrial plants are among their customers. In addition, Bohlen & Doyen are also involved in the building of large-scale plants, special plants and container construction.

Project description

The transport of gas to the end-consumer is effected through an extensive network of gas pipes. This network is supplied by pressure boosting stations which are situated along the coast of East Frisia and obtain their gas from oil rigs in the North Sea. The gas pressure is between 85 and 130 bar. Before the gas can be fed into the individual municipal networks, the gas pressure is reduced to c. 35 bar by gas pressure control systems, which are situated on the outskirts of the cities. The expansion of the gas leads to a cooling down of the medium. Both the pressure control and the temperature control were realized by us with the assistance of the process control system PCS7. Additionally, a multitude of process signals are being recorded.

Why HIT?

HIT completed this project successfully. A clearly laid out user interface was designed and a good facility and software structure was created for the service team. The facility has proved its reliability from the very beginning. These features increase the system stability and the productivity of the facility.
